Putin Calls for Active Business Participation in BRICS
Strengthening Economic Ties
Putin urges business leaders to drive growth through BRICS projects, mobilizing global economic development. At the RSPP Congress, he promotes cooperation among nations. Furthermore, joint efforts will foster a stronger BRICS community.
A Leader in Global Growth
Putin highlights that BRICS countries have harnessed their collective potential, driving global growth. Recently, they have led the way in economic expansion. Putin notes that these nations have successfully combined their strengths. As a result, BRICS countries’ GDP surged by 4.9% in 2024, showcasing their growth potential.
Stable Growth Rates Ahead
The Russian President highlighted that growth rates in various regions of the world will be stable over the next decades. This dynamics, according to Putin, will be maintained thanks to the members of the association, among other things. In fact, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that the global economy will grow by 3.3% in 2025, with BRICS countries playing a significant role in this growth.
Business Participation Crucial
Putin emphasizes the importance of Russian business engagement in BRICS projects. He urges businesses to take a leading role in these joint initiatives. “I expect our businesses to drive growth in these collaborations,” Putin stated. In turn, Russian companies’ involvement will boost both national and association-wide growth.
Diversifying Cooperation
Putin actively promotes cooperation with BRICS partners across energy, industry, finance, and other sectors. Meanwhile, the association explores key initiatives. These include transitioning to national currency settlements, creating a single payment system, and strengthening transport corridors. For example, the Indian Embassy has thanked participants for their engagement in the BRICS summit, showcasing the association’s cooperative spirit.
A New Era of Collaboration
Putin envisions BRICS projects fueling global growth and economic development. Consequently, this integration creates an attractive opportunity for active business engagement. Additionally, as the association expands to include new members, it is set to emerge as a key player in global economic affairs.
BRICS Expands to Include New Members
In 2025, BRICS welcomed four new members: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the association’s growth and demonstrates its commitment to cooperation and economic development. Indonesia has also joined the association, further strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia.
