On September 24, a BRIC Foreign Ministers’ meeting with the participation of Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov took place in New York on the sidelines of the 64th General Assembly session.
Special attention was paid to coordinating the common approaches for all four countries to topical problems of world development, food and energy security, overcoming the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis and resisting climate change.
A keen and constructive exchange of views took place on further steps to develop the quadripartite cooperation, including the holding of the next BRIC summit in Brazil at the invitation of the Brazilian side.
