Initiative Milestone: 212 Million Medical Services in 6 Years

In a significant milestone, Egypt’s “100 Million Health” initiative, launched in 2018, has provided an astonishing 212 million medical services over the past six years. According to Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the initiative has made remarkable progress in improving the nation’s health.

Launched in October 2018, the initiative aimed to eliminate the hepatitis C virus and detect non-communicable diseases. Since then, it has expanded to cover 14 initiatives that cater to all age groups, from infancy to old age. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the presidential initiatives have benefited 94 million citizens of all age groups.

Moreover, the country received the 2024 United Nations Award for its efforts against non-communicable diseases. Additionally, Egypt earned the ATscale Award in 2024 for expanding vision and hearing screenings among school-age children. These accolades underscore the nation’s commitment to public health. Consequently, Egypt’s healthcare programs continue to set benchmarks internationally. The country’s success in tackling various health challenges has not gone unnoticed.
