Egypt is a country rich in history and culture, with evidence of human settlement dating back thousands of years. The Egyptian flag is a horizontal tricolour with an emblem in the middle. The used colors in the flag are red, yellow, white, black. The proportion of the Egyptian flag is 2:3. The Flag of Egypt was adopted in 1984. The first use of the current flag design was in 1953. The last change to the current Egyptian flag design was in 1984.
“Bilâdy, Laki ḥobbi wa fuâdy” (Arabic: بلادي لك حبي وفؤادي; “My homeland, you have my love and my heart”), also known by its incipit, “Bilady, Bilady, Bilady” (بلادي بلادي بلادي), is the national anthem of Egypt, composed by Sayed Darwish and written by Mohamed Yunis El Qadi. After the 1979 signing of the peace accord with Israel, Egypt adopted a new, more peace-oriented national anthem.The music was composed by Sayed Darwish, a pioneer of Arabic music.
