Implementation by BRICS of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development promoted and enhanced cooperation on advancing sustainable development in three dimensions – economic, social and environmental – in a balanced and integrated manner. BRICS intensified interaction in the fields of addressing climate change, enabling sustainable energy consumption and generation, enhancing the quality of human capital with one of the goals being eradication of poverty, as well as solving the issues of land and water pollution

By working together on these initiatives, BRICS nations hope to make a significant contribution to global efforts to combat climate change and build a more sustainable future.

Develop Clean Technologies: Promoting research, adoption, and production of technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and minimize human impact on the climate. This includes supporting sustainable lifestyles.

Attract Investment in Green Solutions: BRICS aim to create an environment that attracts investment in projects focused on reducing emissions, adaptation programs, and increasing greenhouse gas absorption.

Cooperation on Green Technology: The BRICS Environmentally Sound Technology Platform is crucial for facilitating collaboration on clean technologies. This may involve leveraging the climate finance mechanisms under the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement.
